IPL Photo

creating clear skin

Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a technology used by cosmetic and medical practitioners to perform various skin treatments for aesthetic and therapeutic purposes.

An IPL photo facial treats sun damage, sunspots, rosacea, broken capillaries, cherry angiomas, and freckles. IPL systems work on the same principles as lasers in that light energy is absorbed into particular target cells with colour (chromophores) in the skin. The light energy is converted to heat energy, which causes damage to the specific target area and removing the colour from the skin.

The Naked Truth

IPL can be performed on light to medium skin tones. It cannot be performed on any one with dark skin tones or with melasma.

Zero downtime. You will have darkening spots of the pigmented spots for roughly 7 days and will need to stay out of the sun for minimum two weeks and wear sunscreen daily for at least one month.

All treatments and packages purchased are non refundable. This is why free consults are offered.

Preparation: Avoided excessive sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to treatment Aftercare:  Apply sunscreen to the treated area as skin is temporarily more sensitive to sun. Avoid shaving 48 hours after the treatment. Avoid exposing treated area to direct sunlight, excessive sweating, hot showers, swimming or saunas, restrictive clothing and exfoliation for 24-48 hours following the treatment. There may be some mild heat and redness in treated areas. Sooth any redness or sensitivity with aloe vera gel or any cooling lotion.
